Being at Orakei Korako (The Hidden Village) is like being in another world. This stunning Rotorua attraction offers so many once in a lifetime experiences. The Tangata Whenua (People of the Land) provided waka to cross the rivers with and by the early 1900’s the Orakei Korako area has been established as a geothermal visitor’s attraction. Fast forward to December 1937, Orakei Korako was officially opened as a tourist resort and is still open today with the same beauty and serenity that it held in the 1800’s.
